This holiday season Village Merchants is hosting a food drive for the local nonprofit agency, Fish Emergency Services. Their motto is, “Neighbor Helping Neighbor”.
Drop off any non-perishable food items at Village Merchants in the big blue bin by the front door. In hard times it’s important that we help keep each other standing.
More so at Village than anywhere else, we’re all connected. You probably have a fellow neighbors’ lamp, chair, or sweater recycled through Village at your house right now. We’re all neighbors and it’s a great time to help one another.
Happy Holidays to you and yours!
NEIGHBOR HELPING NEIGHBOR
For many in the Portland area, Fish Emergency Service is their last resort. We see the need in their eyes and hear desperation in their voices. Some are single parents trying to feed hungry children. Many are elderly, unsure of what to do to make ends meet.
These are our neighbors: people who have just lost a job, have illness in the family or have other circumstances that make them unable to provide for themselves or their family.
For 41 years, Fish has been there to help.
